Speaking to the official Dundee website, Calum said:
"I found out for definite that I was coming here yesterday, I signed the papers and it's a great opportunity to come here get games and, hopefully, help the team to do well."
"I asked Hearts if I could go out on loan as I've been out since January and after a long time getting back to fitness the lack of a reserve league meant I wasn't getting games, I'm keen to get going here and am really looking forward to being involved against Raith tomorrow."
Calum has recently been out with an injury. He has also had loan spells at Motherwell and Livingston.
