ADMINISTRATION THREAT LOOMS OVER DUNDEE FC

Administration is  a serious and real threat that faces the club after it emerged that Dundee owe the HMRC of around £365,000 in unpaid PAYE and National Insurance tax. The club has been in serious talks with the board and looking at various options. Dundee fans are understandably frustrated at the lack of information from the club due to confidentiality. HMRC have been offered by Mr Melville a downpayment of £100,000 but that was apparently rejected as was his written guarantee that the bill would be paid in full in May. It has transpired though that a group of Dundee local buisnessmen have come forward with £75k with the hope that Mr Melville would underwrite the balance of the due payment. If nothing can be agreed, then there is a distinct and really possibility that the club will be plunged into administration or even worse, liquidation. More to follow as soon as possible.
