Dundee FC have announced a very special dinner to commerorate the 50th anniversary of winning the Championship in 1962.
Sunday 29th April 2012 is the date set for the dinner at the Caird Hall, 50 years and a day since Shankleys boys won the title at Muirton, which also ensured the relegation of St Johnstone.
Speaking to http://www.thedees.co.uk/, Dees director, Maurice Kidd added:
"Plans are well underway, and we hope this to be the biggest football dinner ever in Dundee" said Director Maurice Kidd, who along with Commercial Manager Graham James, Commercial Associate John Brown, DFCSS Director Dave Forbes and local architect and former DFC Director Bob Hynd have been tasked with organising the extravaganza.
"We feel this will be something pretty spectacular, and are determined to put on an event fitting to mark this remarkable achievement. So far, all of the former players from that team have intimated they will be in attendance, as will be the families of those players who are sadly no longer with us"
"We have a few surprises in store on the evening, and hope that as many fans as possible can support this and show their appreciation for what that legendary team achieved"
We think that this will be an evening not to miss and will remember the glory days of the Dundee team from 1961/2.
Tickets cost £62 and are available from the main reception at Dens or by contacting 01382 884450. Deposit of £22 per person has to be made at time of booking and installment payments are available.
