COUNTY GAIN POINT AT DENS AS 2 MORE POINTS DROPPED FOR DEES!

Dundee 1-1 Ross County.

Another 2 points dropped for the Dark Blues in a game which was billed as pretty much a 'must' win game against league leaders Ross County at Dens Park.
Ross County took the lead after only ten minutes with an easy finish from Kettlewell from a Richard Brittain cross inside the box. Dundee though were awarded a penalty from the linesman after 30 minutes when Carl Finnigan dinked into the box after a fine run and was chopped down by Boyd. Up stepped Ryan Conroy who confidently dispatched the ball into the back of the net.
Dundee began to gain more of the possession after the equaliser but Ross County had chances to retake the lead  with Gardyne running through towards Douglas but fell over before really getting into a dangerous area, McMenamin had a deflected header hit off the bar and over the goal.
Second half saw Dundee take more of a grip on the game but no team really looked like scoring again and that is how the game petered out. Finnigan might have had another penalty when he wrestled by Grant Munro in the box but the referee decided against awarding the spot kick.

All in all, Dundee will be disappointed that they couldn't close the gap on Falkirk and County but it was a hard game in which Dundee had to adapt to the strong and physical tactics shown by County which were very physical at times. Not a lot of football was played but without a shadow of a doubt, Dundee were the one's that were looking to play the passing game.
