RAB AND NICKY SIGN UP FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Robert Douglas and Nicky Riley both signed new deals with Dundee at Dens today and have each penned one year deals.

Speaking to http://www.thedees.co.uk/, Nicky expressed his delight at signing on again for the Dark Blues:

I'm delighted to have come up today and put pen to paper, that's everything sorted and I'm just looking forward to next year now."

"The boys who have already signed have sown that after what happened last season then everyone still wants to be here and the aim next year is obviously to try and get promoted."

"When the club went into administration I don't thin anyone could have seen what would come next as regards the players who were left and the fans. The support we got from the fans home and away for the rest of the season was unbelievable - nobody could have expected that support, and then the run that we went on - I doubt anyone could have expected that."

"The whole club just came together, for me it was unbelievable to be a part of it and I'm sure everyone involved in the club would feel the same"

Rab Douglas also took time out to speak to http://www.thedees.co.uk/

"Brilliant to be signed up for the new season, I don't think there was ever any doubt I was going to stay. I live up here, I've got family connections here.
"Me coming back here in the first place was largely down to my father in law. He talked me into coming back, I was going to go to America at the time. I fancied going to Atlanta and I was sick of football when I left Leicester.
"We've obviously not done ourselves justice since I came back, we had the problems last season, but the fans and the players were brilliant to get us over that.
"Hopefully we can go on and have a push for promotion, we've got no divine right to be up there, but if we can keep as many of the squad together and add a couple we will be in with a chance - we'll certainly give it our best shot."

DUNDEE EXIT ADMINISTRATION.

Dundee FC, as of this afternoon, Thursday May 12th 2011, have exited administration after the formal paper work was delivered to the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

Control of the club has been relinquished from Bryan Jackson and will be handed over to the new board of directors tommorow, with their first official meeting on Monday.

Today is a momentous occasion for all Dees as it marks the end of a rollercoaster seven months; in which we entered administration and nine players and staff were let go, we were deducted 25 points and had a transfer embargo placed up on us by the SFL, we went on a 23 game unbeaten run, and eventually finished sixth in the First Division and escaping relegation. Everyone has played their part from the superb fans to the players, management, staff and of course Mr Bryan Jackson.

We can now move forward once again and look forward to another season in the First Division and another season as Dundee Football Club.

BARRY AGREES 3 YEAR DEAL WITH DEES.

Barry set to stay as Dundee boss.
Barry Smith has agreed in principle a three year deal to stay as manager of Dundee FC. After taking over the reins from Gordon Chisholm in October 2010, the former Dark Blues captain has guided the Dees to safety in the First Division after a 25 points deduction and transfer embargo whilst going on a 23 game unbeaten run in the process. Speaking to The Courier, a delighted Barry spoke of his pride on staying Dundee boss.
"I've agreed in principle to stay for another three years. I'm delighted to get my future sorted out because everyone knows my feelings for the club.
"Now I just want to focus on getting as many of the out-of-contract players signed up as I can.
"Hopefully seeing that I'm committed to the club will persuade a few of them to stay and buy into what we're trying to do here."

STEPHEN AGREES NEW DEAL TOO!

Along with the good news that Barry has decided to stay, midfield maestro Stephen O'Donnell has agreed a new one year deal with the Dark Blues. Barry Smith was also delighted that O'Donnell was staying on:
"Stephen O'Donnell has agreed a new deal as well. We're delighted with that because he's been magnificent since he came to the club.
"He doesn't get the credit he deserves but I have loved working with him and can't speak highly enough of him."

Connor Rennie and John Gibson have both agreed one year deals too.
Barry also disclosed that the club is in talks with all of the squad and hope to have some positive news regarding these talks soon.

DEFEAT AT QUEENS DOES NOTHING TO DAMPEN DUNDEE PARTY.

Queen of the South 3-0 Dundee

A rain soaked Palmerston saw Queen of the South run out comfortable victors against a Dundee side which has achieved so much this season. Goals from Allan Johnston, former Dee Colin McMenamin and Paul Burns for Queens saw off a very tired Dundee side but the result did nothing to dampen the spirits of the 1125 Dundee supporters who made the long trip to Dumfries who enjoyed a party and celebrated a season finish after a rollercoaster last few months.
