After an industrious and heroic effort in Saturday's win over Queen of the South at Dens, the Dark Blues crashed out of the Alba Challenge Cup at the hands of part-timers, Stenhousmuir.
Goals from Alex Williams, Grant Anderson, Paul Quinn and Kevin Motion sealed the shock victory for the Second Division club with Leigh Griffiths scoring a scant consolation goal for the Dark Blues.
Dundee have to now pick themselves up and concentrate on Saturday's away match at Partick Thistle.
