EX-DEES CORNER: SIMON LYNCH


Simon Lynch in the Dark Blue of Dundee FC.

Simon was born in Montreal, Canada on 19th May 1982. He moved over to Scotland when he was a child.
In 1999 he joined Celtic where he made 7 appearances, scoring three goals in the process. In 2002, he joined English outfit Preston North End for around £130,000. He went onto make 44 appearances for the Lancashire club before going out on loan to Stockport in 2003 where he made 9 appearances, scoring three times. In 2004, he joined Blackpool on loan and he made 7 appearances for the seaside club.



Simon headed north of the border in 2005 and he joined newly relegated Dundee. He would go onto make 33 appearances for the Dees, scoring 13 times. He also played in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup with the Dark Blues but lost to Gretna at Hampden by 3 goals to nil. He left the Dens Park club at the end of the 2005/6 season and went to ply his trade in Austrailia for Queensland Roar.and between 2006 and 2008, he made 34 appearances for the Aussie club, scoring 5 times. Injuries unfortunately had a bearing on his time Down Under and he left the club in 2008 and returned to Scotland where he signed for Airdrie United where he would make 33 appearances and scored 10 times. In 2009 he joined East Stirling, racking up 13 goals in 34 appearances. At the start of the 2010/11 season, he joined Stenhousemuir and would make 17 appearances for the Ochil View club scoring 4 goals. At the end of the season, Simon retired from football.
