Dundee's preparations for the new season continued tonight but unfortunately they fell to a 2-0 defeat by SPL side St Johnstone at Dens Park. Goals from May and former Dee Dave MacKay sealed the win for the Perth side but for Dundee it was a chance of maintaining fitness levels and getting match practice for the new season. Next friendly will be on Saturday against Southend United at New Bayview in a friendly tournament.

Dundee had two trialists in the squad tonight. Former Dunfermline centre back Neil McGregor and former Hibs player, Ewan Moyes.
