Alan Gordon dies aged 65

Former Hibernian, Hearts, Dundee United and Dundee striker, Alan Gordon, has sadly passed away at the age of 65 from cancer. I would like to express my sincere condolences to his family at this sad time.

He is believed to have been the only player to have played for Hearts and Hibs aswell as Dundee and Dundee United.
Between 1961 and 1967, Alan made 111 appearances for Hearts, scoring 49 goals. After a short spell in South Africa and a second stint at Hearts in 1968/9, Jerry Kerr signed Alan for Dundee United. His main success though came with Hibs whom he joined in 1972 and he quickly became an integral part of the Turnbull Tornadoes in which they won the League Cup and the Dryburgh Cup. Alan went on to score 51 goals in 84 appearances for the Easter Road club before joining Dundee in 1974 at the age of 30, where he spent a season and a half before he retired from football to take up his role in accountancy of which he was qualified.
