Dundee 2-1 Ayr United, Active Nations Scottish Cup Fifth Round

Dundee came from behind to book their place in the Quarter Finals of the Active Nations Scottish Cup. It was an ex-Dee that came back to haunt the Dees after 11 minutes when Tam McManus steered Ayr United in front and a deserved lead. Dundee squandered a golden opportunity moments later when Gary Harkins scuffed a shot wide when it looked easier to score. Dundee went into half time on level terms however when a spilled Griffiths shot by Craig Samson fell at the feet of Dundee new boy Ben Hutchinson and he sidefooted it into the back of the net. Dundee dominated the second half and got the winner in the 70 minute when Craig Samson's punched clearance hit off Leigh Griffiths and dropped into the net. It was a valiant effort from Ayr United but Dundee claimed the win and are in the hat for Wednesday's Quarter Final draw.
